Commonly heard at the office & at home: My computer is running slow like molasses.
There could be several reasons but the principal one is: a virus invasion.
No point feeling guilty about it since it’s not necessarily your fault. You could be browsing the Net or simply receiving some email messages. Websites can carry a virus which will find a way of installing itself into your PC computer. It happens often when you click on a tempting offer, asking you to register or to confirm/cancel a choice. And you’re hooked.
People tend to overlook the first time it happens, or even the second or third. We have seen cases of over a hundred viruses in a single computer. You might smile & say: it’s his fault, he should have installed a virus protection software. Certainly, yet this protection is rarely complete since new viruses are born every day and the nasty creators try hard to circumvent the protection. Furthermore, some anti-virus programs are practically useless. And they may even act as a virus since they will interfere with the simpler operation of the PC & will slow it down further. Multiple virus protection is a no-no because you would be multiplying the disadvantages.
There are two ways for dealing with these issues. The first one is to back-up your data then erase the hard disk and reinstall the operating system & the data.
The second is to run a virus sweep of your computer followed by a reconfiguration of the PC.
We then verify that all the peripheral drivers are up to date and finally we install a simple but efficient virus protection software.
Our job is not done if we do not dust off and wipe the sides of your PC & clean up the LCD screen of your laptop.
